This brief analyzes the challenges and avenues for cooperation between Norway and each of the BRICS countries. The authors contend that although common ambitions do exist among members, BRICS is not a homogeneous group of states and as such Norway’s outreach should be individual and issue-specific. They highlight Brazil and South Africa as cases where mutual interests are served by existing arrangements. For the remaining countries, the authors offer policy recommendations for future cooperation.
