This paper discusses some of the effects which exposure to the UK's educational system can have, both on Pakistani immigrants who have come to settle in Britain as well as those who undertake educational courses and then return to Pakistan. First the author examines how first generation Pakistani migrants to the UK viewed the education system and what their expectations of an education in Britain were. She then discusses the experiences of Pakistanis who returned to Pakistan after undertaking studies in the UK and the effect this experience had on them.
