This paper reflects on how the existing political-military framework in Europe might affect future arms procurement on the continent. More specifically, the paper's authors explore the structural problems procurement agencies face and which areas are most favorable for closer multinational cooperation. Although there are no decisive breakthroughs pending in the Europeanization of arms procurement, the authors conclude that in the medium- and long-term military harmonization and industrial integration could lead to more efficient and cooperative procurement processes.
