This brief analyzes how Botswana governs its use of water. More specifically, it focuses on 1) the nation’s water policies and legislation, including recent attempts to separate the institutional responsibilities for providing, managing and regulating water; 2) the finances, tariffs and subsidies associated with water management; and 3) what specifically needs to be done in order to ensure a sustainable water supply for the country in the future.
