This analysis contends that despite the tangible progress it has made towards joining the EU, Bosnia remains frozen in many other areas. To explore this state of affairs in greater detail, the text’s author looks at 1) the obstacles to Bosnia’s stability and development; 2) the not-always-benign activities of foreign powers within the country; and 3) the volatile role of Islam at the local level.
