This working paper on transport energy security is part of the INDES (Insuring against Disruptions of Energy Supply) project, a project financed by the European Commission. The author discusses the inelasticity of demand for oil-based products in the transport sector of the world?s economies, which in its turn reflects the strategic dominance of transport within economies.
