This paper gives recommendations to EU member states on dealing with the foreign policy strategy of the administration of US President George W Bush. It argues that (re)designing political and economic institutions abroad forms the essence of the administration's policy-making. The author claims that US foreign policy is no less than remaking the world order. Other actors such as the EU could only influence US foreign policy if a stronger union was created with a genuinely unified foreign, security and defense policy.
