This paper examines Russia's security policy and EU-Russian relations. The study focuses on the durability of President Vladimir Putin's policy of modernization "within the West", assesses the extent of potential EU-Russian cooperation, notably in security terms, and evaluates what kind of labor division could be worked out between the US, the EU and Russia in terms of managing security in the post-Soviet space.
