This paper tries to identify synergies between social protection and livelihood promotion agriculture. First, the study considers the potentially positive impacts of social protection on agriculture and the impact of agriculture on risks and vulnerability. It also examines the potential relevance of social protection measures to the poor and draws attention to livelihood protection and rights-based approaches.
