Publication

This report is based on presentations held at the "Peacekeeping - Peacebuilding: Preparing for the Future" conference in Helsinki on 29 May 2006. The gathering examined trends and challenges in peacekeeping with a focus on UN peacekeeping. The authors debate the presence of the international community, the duration of its stay and the ultimate goals. The paper analyzes peacekeeping from the Nordic perspective as well as from the African point of view.
