This paper discusses the continuous decline of British Prime Minister Tony Blair's popularity. The author describes the growing public dissatisfaction with many of Blair's policies and the increasing demands from within the Labour Party that he set a firm date for relinquishing the government leadership. The paper explains that most Labour Party members expect less of an internal election and more of a smooth transition to Gordon Brown as party leader and prime minister. The author details the political developments in the UK in the context of their impact on relations with the US.
