This paper identifies the lack of a common EU approach to dealing with labour migration and calls for the establishment of an EU-wide immigration policy. The paper argues that a common approach is highly necessary in light of economic efficiency and social cohesion. It will also help provide an answer to the challenges posed by migration to receiving states and societies. Furthermore, the paper argues that economic considerations must not prevail over human ones.
