This report examines the extent of the threat posed by cyberattacks to Norway’s petroleum sector. More specifically, the text addresses this issue by exploring 1) the geopolitical climate facing Norway, including the cybersecurity threats posed by Russia as well as other countries and actors; 2) three examples of cyberattacks from the Ukraine conflict to illustrate the cybersecurity difficulties facing energy sectors; 3) the vulnerabilities of the Norwegian petroleum sector’s prevention and response mechanisms that deal with cybersecurity, and more.
