This report examines the impact of the Kosovo crisis on Macedonia, discusses the context of inter-ethnic relations, assesses the influence of events in Kosovo on ethnic Albanians and analyzes the increase in inter-ethnic tensions. The paper looks at existing security arrangements in the country and the possible ramifications of additional foreign military deployment in Macedonia. The paper also considers how the international community might take account of the fragile situation in Macedonia and makes recommendations about appropriate international action.
