This report provides information on the state and development of Albania with a focus on political stability and security issues. The paper addresses a meeting between Premier Pandeli Majko and former president Sali Berisha, the situation in Kosovo and the general security situation. Furthermore, the paper elaborates on drugs, the collection of weapons, Islam and rapid urbanization. The paper argues that the main challenges facing Albania are to restart economic growth, to restore law and order and to establish sound and stable state institutions.
