This paper reviews political, economical and social developments in Albania in 2002. The paper introduces political developments, including media issues, the Klosi Affair and the return of Lek Zog and changes in the economy. Subsequently, the paper explores numerous social issues such as crime and corruption, poverty and the Muslim community and goes on to address Albania’s relations with its neighboring countries. The paper assesses that in 2002 Albania experienced some measure of political, economic and social progress.
