This report addresses Serbia’s political development toward Milosevic-style politics without Milosevic, based on strong ultra-nationalists. The paper discusses how the unclear situation in Kosovo influences Serbia and explains how nationalist and right wing parties succeeded in the elections. Subsequently, the paper reviews the protracted process of forming a democratic minority government and outlines future trends. The paper argues that Serbia must undergo a political and economic transition in order to become a stable state.
