This paper applies the results of three major analytical perspectives on ethno-cultural conflict and conflict resolution to the complex case of Indonesian collective violence. The three perspectives – the psychological, the institutional and the cultural dimensions of collective violence – are being introduced, their most promising aspects described and then applied to Indonesia on the macro-level of conflict resolution.
