This paper provides an overview of the Swiss political system, with a focus on Switzerland's multiethnic and multilingual society. The author explores the possibility of using Switzerland as a model for the resolution of nationality conflicts. The paper concludes that Switzerland cannot serve as a model because abstracting general guidelines from the specific conditions in which the political system originally emerged is not possible.
