This publication addresses the issue of private and public investments in Africa and challenges the claim that the lack of sufficient investment in Africa is the major obstacle to economic development on the continent. Underlining their argument with a case study of the manufacturing sector in Tanzania, the authors conclude that Africa's low investment and growth rates seem to be symptoms of underlying factors.
