This paper focuses on the Sri Lankan peace process and the challenges ahead for post conflict reconstruction during the period 1998-2002. The study encompasses various types of analyses of the background to, and causes of, the 19-year-old armed conflict in Sri Lanka. According to the author, it has been a priority to ensure that central Sri Lankan researchers and their work on this topic are represented.
