This publication assesses five innovative policy measures to increase basic immunization coverage to introduce underused vaccines and develop new vaccines. The policies analyzed include performance-based grants, a global vaccine purchasing fund, the International Finance Facility for Immunization, public-private product development partnerships for development of new products and advance market commitments to create incentives to develop and manufacture new vaccines.
