Based on assessments of the energy security strategies and interests of the major players in the region, this report outlines three scenarios for the future of international relations in Asia. The first, called ‘increased cooperation’ is the most positive and also the most likely according to the authors. The second scenario, ‘Conflict in East Asia,’ assumes a possible embargo against China. The third scenario, ‘The Middle East explodes’ expects a full scale ‘resource war.’ The final section offers suggestions as to implications for Norway's foreign policy and cooperation with China and India.
