This paper illustrates the EU-NATO-Norway constellation and outlines Norway’s security dependence on NATO's Article 5 for defense against external threats. The author also discusses official Norwegian responses to NATO’s New Strategic Concept and analyzes the country’s initiatives in Afghanistan and the question of energy security.
