This paper focuses on the role of ethno-transnational diasporas in the various stages of civil war. The author looks at the wider diaspora rather than those in neighboring countries and examines if the various aspects of political transnationalism contribute to civil war or peace processes. Those aspects include: remittances, military and political involvements and advocacy and lobbying.
