In this report, Adam Segal presents the findings and recommendations of a task force of experts on how the US can prevent itself from falling behind its competitors in technological innovation. To remain the predominant power in a range of emerging technologies, the task force argues that Washington needs to advance a national innovation strategy based on four pillars: 1) restoring federal funding for research and development; 2) attracting and educating a science and technology workforce; 3) supporting technology adoption in the defense sector, and 4) bolstering and scaling technology alliances.
