This paper examines Chinese foreign aid policy toward the developing world. The author describes one of the mechanisms the country's government uses to implement its aid - the Chinese Export-Import Bank - and helps illuminate the role of this institution. The paper concludes that in order to create sustainable demand for Chinese development capital, China will need to reassure the developing world of its good intentions.
