This paper extends the environment component of the Commitment to Development Index to cover four of the biggest developing countries: Brazil, Russia, India and China, a group Goldman Sachs dubbed the "BRICs." The author explores the indicators that make up the environmental component and explains how the BRICs compare to the 21 richest countries of the world.
