This paper explores possible ways to sustain the delicate peace process in the Indian state of Assam. The author states that the prospects for peace mainly hinge on the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) truly showing a committment to peace and whether the Indian government is prepared to take some risks, think out of the box and forge ahead in making things easy for face-to-face talks with the ULFA before working out an acceptable solution. The paper concludes that the road to peace in Assam remains very slippery.
