This paper examines the possibility of the demilitarization of the Siachen glacier in Kashmir. The author explains that the peace process between India and Pakistan needs a showpiece agreement if it is to be revived and carried forward successfully. The paper states that only an agreement to demilitarize the Siachen conflict zone can provide the impluse that is necessary for it.
