This issue of Disarmament Forum assesses compliance with the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC). It examines the implications of the 2002-2005 consultative process as well as strategies to strengthen the BTWC. Some authors further discuss how various international, regional and national initiatives complement the convention and how its confidence-building measures could be revitalized.
