This report analyzes the impact of the outcome of the Sixth Review Conference of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC). In December 2006 the conference ended with a consensual agreement on a final declaration, which is regarded as a step forward for the Convention. The author examines the biological weapons regime prior to the conference and describes the progress during the conference. She evaluates the outcome and offers recommendations for further action.
