This paper emphasizes the importance of geographic and political connectivity to India's general interests. The authors explain that the country's objective of improving connectivity should be based on its long-term objectives and interests in Central Asia, West Asia and East Asia, including Southeast Asia. The paper highlights the importance of building a new transportation infrastructure across India and Southern Asia to improve and facilitate national and international development and trade.
