This paper examines the mismanagement of Myanmar's natural resources and other economic assets by the country's military government. The author explains that the absence of redistribution of wealth within the country and the lack of infrastructure obstruct almost all possibility of massive economic development. The paper analyzes how the potential of Myanmar’s natural resources has been turned into a burden that restrains the country from economic progress.
