This paper examines the opening of the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir and discusses whether the measure will remain feasible and sustainable. The author tries to determine whether additionally allowing cross-LoC trade and economic interaction would be in the interests of India. The paper states that cross-LoC trade would be in the strategic interests of India, as it would reduce the hold of regional extremist and militant elements on civil society in the Kashmir Valley.
