This paper provides an overview of India's foreign policy toward Burma (Myanmar). The author details how the political developments in Burma (Myanmar) necessitate the need for a revised Indian policy toward the country. The paper states that India’s previous "engage the junta" policy may not prove to be viable in the long run as the junta government continues to renege on its domestic responsibilities, transforming Myanmar into a zone of disaster and instability and, therefore, an unreliable venue for various Indian infrastructural development projects passing through Myanmar.
