This report addresses the opportunities that immigrants in Norway have for sending money to their countries of origin. It covers the full variety of transfer services available, including those that exist outside the conventional market. The report states that the conventional banking sector in Norway may be characterized by a combination of passivity and powerlessness in relation to remittances and that therefore smaller service providers have moved in to fill the niche.
