The publication examines transformations in the international political economy in the aftermath of the Iraq war. The paper explores the case for a new global economic order influenced by the emergence of new Asian economic powers. The paper concludes that both increased global competition and imbalances in the economy present policy challenges for Australia and the entire international community.
