This paper discusses the war in Iraq and its consequences. It looks at the lessons it holds for the United States, Australia - who has given its ally undeviating support in this conflict, and for the international community as a whole. It calls for Australia to exercise discrimination and balance when choosing its alliances and advises not to committing to march in lock-step with anyone but be indeed a good ally while maintaining the freedom of choice.
