This paper focuses on issues related to land management as a response to human-induced soil degradation activities. It highlights policy recommendations deriving from positive case studies of sustainable land management. It further reflects on what needs to be done to improve the efficiency of fund expenditure for better land management while improving the livelihoods of people in rural areas.
