This paper discusses the livelihood support and the humanitarian intervention in situations of chronic conflict. It examines whether aid can be provided beyond the saving of human lives during the chronic conflicts and political instability. It summarizes the tools used by agencies to understand the impact of conflict on livelihoods and highlights key features of livelihood intervention in chronic conflict situations.
