Publication

The paper analyzes the theories associated with the "Third Wave" of democratization and applies them to cross-cultural case studies. The author identifies challenges to democratization processes and the emergence of hybrid regimes. The paper argues considerable gains have been made in the almost universal recognition of the primacy of democratic reforms.
