This paper explores Senegalese citizens' perceptions of and experiences with corruption. It considers how perceptions of corruption vary between individuals as well as nationally. Using a multi-level statistical analysis, the author demonstrates that individual-level effects vary by environment. The climate of opinion surrounding an individual may directly affect his or her perception of corruption rates.
