This paper analyzes the transformation of international crisis management. The author notes that its expansion in terms of tasks and timelines and the increasing number of actors involved have made effective coordination of activities and instruments an urgent priority. He examines the idea of a comprehensive approach, which has been adopted by many states and international organizations as a result. He however argues that recent efforts to implement it have shown mixed results.
