This report identifies the existing gaps in the context of social and economic integration between the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the EU. Specifically, it assesses the existing trends of the gaps across countries and problem areas, taking into consideration the specific origin of the gap between EU15/EU12, on the one hand, and former Soviet Union republics, EU candidates and Western Balkan countries, on the other hand. The authors also looks at gender-related development issues.
