This policy brief presents key facts and recommendations on education and development drawn from 'The White House and the World: A Global Development Agenda for the Next US President.' It argues that foreign aid for education has traditionally been well-received by Congress and the US electorate; its delivery, however, has languished since 1990. Therefore, it calls on the next US president to announce a big international push to expand quality primary schooling in low-income countries.
