This paper details the findings from fieldwork about gender and mine action in Ethiopia. It gives a background on the Ethiopian landmine problem and explains the structure of the country's landmine sector. The paper goes on to explore how gender is incorporated within the landmine sector in Ethiopia. Finally, the paper concludes with the lessons that have been learned from the Ethiopian case regarding gender mainstreaming in mine action.
