This paper addresses cultural, socioeconomic and faith-based challenges to control tuberculosis (TB) among the indigenous Taiwanese. It describes the pervasiveness of TB among indigenous Taiwanese, discusses reasons why past TB control plans have failed, and identifies potential strategies to overcome the observed obstacles. The authors claim the relationship between the faith-based organizations and aboriginals is strong and could be considered as an effective method to deliver health education information to the indigenous Taiwanese.
