This paper examines the changing geopolitical landscape in East Asia due to emerging "New Regionalism." For the US not only the economic factors matter, but also the geopolitical aspects to initiate a Free Trade Agreement with Korea to break the growing "Asia-Only Regionalism." The author outlines the pros and cons of the agreement between the two countries.
