This report presents the results of collaborative research project named Adequacy and Sustainability of Old-Age Income in the EU (AIM). The project highlights the differences among EU member-states when it comes to saving for retirement. While in some countries the working age population is able to sustain their consumption on retirement, in others there is a significant saving gap. AIM also provides new, detailed statistical on the socio-economic situation of the elderly in the EU, develops scenarios for the future and describes the key concepts and analytical tools available to policymakers.
